Here are five of the craziest taboos in the world that you might not have heard of before!

Is cheese your favorite? Well, I know a lot of us love cheese and would love to always ask for an extra piece, but when you're at any restaurant in Italy, just don't ask for extra cheese. Because many chefs serve food just exactly how they believe it should be eaten, if you insist, they might take it as offensive.
#2. Not Saying Hello in America

What if you’re walking on the road and you happened to bump into someone you know but the person just ignored you? That would be a little bit embarrassing and upsetting. That’s why ‘’not saying hello’’ in America is a taboo. It doesn’t mean that you have to greet all the people in your way, just those whom you know.
#3. Being Tactile in Japan

If you think physical contact is a good way to connect with people in Japan, then you're wrong! Instead of handshakes, Japanese people bow to greet their friends or relatives since they don't like sharing germs with other people, just kidding! So when you're not from Japan and then plan to visit Japan, make sure to restrain yourself from being tactile. No cheek kisses either.
#4. Touching a Person's Head in Malaysia

In Malaysia, the head is the most sacred part of the body, and touching it is never a good idea. So when you travel to Malaysia, make sure to control your hands if you don't want to be confronted for being rude or inconsiderate.
#5. Foot Binding in China

Foot binding is a traditional practice back in the Tang China Dynasty where it forcefully restricts young girls' feet to normally grow. This painful tradition was performed in order to alter the shape and size of a girl's feet, which they believed would allow them to have a good marriage. This was banned in 1912.
There are countless taboos around the world that we're still oblivious to, and it is always a good idea to do your own research when you're planning to travel outside your country to avoid what needs to be avoided. Being aware would help us to enjoy our travel experience and always be reminded that respecting cultural differences would lead to world peace!
